این هنرمند برجسته‌ی عکاسی ایران که متولد سال 1323 تهران است در سن 65 سالگی درگذشت.

تدریس و تحقیق در دانشگاه‌های تهران، هنر و دانشگاه آزاد اسلامی و مرکز تحقیقات و مطالعات ارشاد از سال 1359 تاکنون، برگزاری بیش از 50 نمایشگاه عکس در ایران، فرانسه، آلمان، مجارستان، چک‌، فنلاند و...، تاسیس عکس‌خانه‌ ایران و سردبیری فصل‌نامه «عکسنامه» ازجمله فعالیت‌های حرفه‌یی وی به‌شمار می‌روند.
